Qualified Person (Geotechnical) for the Piling, Ground Improvement and Diaphragm Wall and ERSS works for the project.

Project involved one of the largest ground improvement works using Deep Soil Mixing (DSM) technique in Singapore with an area covering 80m x 130m and 9 m thick in soft Marine Clays.

One of the deepest and largest diameter bored piles and T-barrettes down to 110m below ground level. (Total about 704 nos.) Difficult ground conditions with thick Marine Clays (more than 40m), Old Alluvium and discovered new extent of Fort Canning Boulder Bed (FCBB). Very deep boreholes exceeding 70m were carried out to verify the extent of FCBB. All piling completed. As-built in preparation.

Challenging staged top-down construction to limit wall movements and impact to adjacent CST tunnels and MRT tunnels. Introduced a ‘donut’ ground treatment, Counterfort DW and top-down excavation to control movements.
